Xolani Khumalo Joins ActionSA as Ekurhuleni Mayoral Candidate

Germiston, 5 October 2025

ActionSA has officially announced television personality and community activist Xolani Khumalo as its mayoral candidate for Ekurhuleni ahead of the 2026 local government elections.

The announcement took place during a lively event in Tembisa, where ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba introduced Khumalo to a crowd of supporters. Mashaba described him as “a fearless South African who has dedicated his life to confronting crime and injustice.”

Khumalo, best known for his role on the television show Sizok’thola, has built a reputation for tackling criminal networks and drug abuse in communities across the country. Speaking at the event, he said his move into politics is a continuation of that mission.

He outlined plans to focus on improving service delivery, boosting local employment, and restoring safety in areas plagued by crime and poor infrastructure. Khumalo emphasized that his campaign will prioritize “clean governance and real results,” particularly in townships that have long been neglected.

ActionSA’s Ekurhuleni structures have welcomed his candidacy, saying it represents a “fresh start” for residents who feel let down by years of political inaction.

With his public profile and hands-on community work, Khumalo’s entry into local politics is expected to inject new energy into the upcoming municipal race — and could reshape the political landscape of Ekurhuleni.
